Step 3 - Attend a pre-completion workshop
December 2008, January and February 2009
A number of workshops will be held in London, the North of England and Wales. At these workshops the Disability Standard team will be on hand to run through the completion process, work through practical examples, demonstrate the online assessment and answer any questions you may have.
Step 4 - Complete your assessment and submit
Monday 2nd March to Monday 27th April 2009
You will have eight weeks to complete and submit your assessment online. During this period the Disability Standard team is on hand to assist you with any questions you may have. You can view and print your submission at any time as well as view submissions from 2005 and 2007 if applicable. Once submitted, your self-assessment is validated by EFD and ratings adjusted accordingly.
Step 5 - Receive your individual, diagnostic report
From July 2009
Your individual tailored report interprets your validated scores and enables you to compare your results with the overall benchmark average. Your report will also feature key successes, identify risks and present recommendations for priority action.
Step 6 Attend the ‘Building disability confidence’ event and receive full Benchmark Report 2009
Autumn 2009
The ‘Building disability confidence’ event brings together participants for a series of tailored workshops. The workshops will address areas for improvement, which have been identified through the Disability Standard results. It also marks the launch of the Benchmark Report which will provide a snapshot of UK business performance on disability.
Step 7 - Develop your disability action plan
Autumn 2009 onwards
Use your diagnostic report to determine priority actions and use the Directory to develop and deliver your disability action plan. The Disability Standard team is also available, on request, to meet to discuss your diagnostic report and the next steps.
Step 8 - Attend the Disability 2009 Awards
November 2009
The Awards ceremony celebrates best practice achievements of every participant and recognises specific areas of innovation and excellence. These could be outstanding projects, policies or initiatives submitted by any participant, from the top scorer to those with scope for improvement.
