The Disability Standard is an online measurement framework that covers all aspects of disability in business. All Employers' Forum on Disability (EFD) members are able to use the self assessment to measure your progress by providing ratings and supporting evidence under the following 10 criteria:
Once you have submitted your assessment you can generate an automated report which provides a summary of scores, highlights, strengths and weakness and links to sources of best practice and information.
This report will be stored online and can be downloaded in PDF format.
We recommend that you review this report internally to confirm that your submission is an accurate reflection of where your organisation is with its work on disability. EFD will not be able to provide direct feedback on this report.
You can update your self-assessment as often as you wish.
Timescales: The self assessment can be completed at a time that suits your organisation. Once you have gathered your evidence the self assessment should take no longer than half a working day to complete.
Resources: You can allocate one super-user to manage the process for your organisation. The super-user can allocate other colleagues to help take part.
Storage: The Disability Standard stores ratings and evidence uploaded so you can copy them across to future assessments if you wish.
Cost: Use of the Disability Standard as a measurement framework to collect and store information is free for all EFD members. All members are entitled to make use of the self assessment tool throughout the benchmark year (currently running from September 2011 - June 2012).
We recommend that you book an EFD evaluation to receive expert feedback on progress and formal recognition of your work. Find out more in the additional services section.
Gold partners can have more than one super-user, and run simultaneous multiple self-assessments (e.g. for different business units or different countries).
After you review your self-assessment the next step is to book an EFD evaluation to receive external recognition of work and tailored feedback from EFD. This will also enter you into the next EFD benchmark and awards.
