Action plan

An action plan is a document that contains organisational actions to be taken on disability, including deadlines and resources allocated to achieving these actions.

Activity log

The activity log shows you at a glance the progress that your organisation is making on completing your Disability Standard self assessment or EFD evaluation. The activity log also shows other key actions, for example when you have assigned a member of your organisation a section of the assessment to complete or when one of your reports has been generated for viewing.

Advantage

Each Disability Standard criteria is split into 5 sections; lead, framework, delivery, review and advantage. You will be asked to provide a rating of either Not in place (0 marks), In progress (1) or Advanced (2) for each section in order to complete a Disability Standard self assessment or EFD evaluation.

Assign users

You can assign users to questions or to reports but only if you are the super user of your organisation.

Criteria

The Disability Standard is based around 10 criteria which have been identified by EFD as key business areas that must be considered in order to meet the needs of disabled people as employees, customers and stakeholders. Read the Disability Standard criteria.

Deadline counter

The deadline counter shows how many days you have to complete your EFD evaluation.  If your deadline passes and you have not completed your assessment, you will need to contact EFD’s Disability Standard team to have your deadline extended.

Delivery

Each Disability Standard criteria is split into 5 sections; lead, framework, delivery, review and advantage. You will be asked to provide a rating of either Not in place (0 marks), In progress (1) or Advanced (2) for each section in order to complete a Disability Standard self assessment or EFD evaluation.

this is the informaiton and advice service that EFD offer to all of their members. they can give you help on a range of topics and are supported by EFD's legal director.

EFD awards

EFD wishes to acknowledge the commitment shown by all members who choose to have their work evaluated and entered into the benchmark, regardless of eventual overall score. We will be holding EFD awards in 2012.

EFD benchmark

All members who complete an EFD evaluation are entered into a benchmark. This means that your scores will be compared with all other member organisations that completed an EFD evaluation. The benchmark will show trends in disability as a business priority and provides a snapshot of UK business performance on disability.

EFD evaluation

EFD evaluation offers EFD members an opportunity to get their self assessment analysed and validated by disability experts, who prepare a tailored report evaluating performance. This also includes automatic entry into the EFD benchmark and awards. Read more about the EFD evaluation.

EFD gold partner

EFD works with some partner organisations which were previously called gold members. This is a higher level of membership which allows you access to certain perks, one of these is participation in the Disability Standard benchmark for free.

EFD member

EFD is a membership organisation and all members have access to the Disability Standard. Vist the EFD website for more information about becoming an EFD member.

Evidence

To take part in the Disability Standard you will need to supply evidence which demonstrates how your organisation meets each of the 10 Disability Standard criteria.

File store

This is where you store all your uploaded files on the Disability Standard website.

Framework

You will be asked to provide a rating of either Not in place (0 marks), In progress (1) or Advanced (2) for each section in order to complete a Disability Standard self assessment or EFD evaluation.

Lead

Each Disability Standard criteria is split into 5 sections; lead, framework, delivery, review and advantage. You will be asked to provide a rating of either Not in place (0 marks), In progress (1) or Advanced (2) for each section in order to complete a Disability Standard self assessment or EFD evaluation.

Manage files

You can do things like move files between folders and delete files when you are in the manage files section.

Member services

This is the team which runs the Disability Standard and also deals with all member related accounts.

Review

Each Disability Standard criteria is split into 5 sections; lead, framework, delivery, review and advantage. You will be asked to provide a rating of either Not in place (0 marks), In progress (1) or Advanced (2) for each section in order to complete a Disability Standard self assessment or EFD evaluation.

Score bandings

If you participate in the Disability Standard and score over 70% you will receive a bronze, silver or gold logo.

Scoring

Each of the Disability Standard 10 criteria is worth a score of 10 marks or 10% of the total Disability Standard score (100%).

Self assessment

The Disability Standard is an online measurement framework that covers all aspects of disability in business. All EFD members are able to use the self assessment to measure your progress by providing ratings and supporting evidence under the Disability Standard 10 criteria.

Super-user

Once your organisation decides to take part in the Disability Standard you need to allocate one key contact within your organisation to act as super-user. The super-user will be given access to all areas of the Disability Standard website and has ultimate responsibility for answering questions, submitting assessments and evaluations and accessing any relevant reports. The super-user can allocate other colleagues to help complete parts of any assessment.  You can change your super-user if necessary by contacting EFD.
