These FAQs explain some of the technical aspects of creating and completing a self-assessment.
1. How do I create a self-assessment?
If you are a super-user you can create a self-assessment by going to ‘My Assessments’. Then choosing ‘create self-assessment’.
2. How do I assign users?
If you are a super-user you can set colleagues up as additional users by going to ‘Manager users’ in the super-user tools. Then choose ‘add new user’. This will take you to the User management page, where you can add the details for the colleague.
You can then assign a criteria by accessing the self-assessment, going to ‘Assign users to this assessment’, selecting the user from the drop-down list, and then selecting the relevant criteria. After doing this an automated email will be generated and sent to the user, explaining that they have been assigned.
3. What is the benefit of assigning users?
We hope the organisation embraces its participation in the Disability Standard. As the questions cover a wide range of functions in an organisation you might feel that a colleague is better positioned to answer the questions relating to a particular criteria, for example, asking Head of IT to complete the questions relating to criteria 10 (ICT).
4. Where is my self-assessment report saved?
Super-users can access reports saved on the site by going to the ‘Manage reports’ link in Super-user tools. On the Manage reports page super-users can access any reports that have been created.
5. How can I delete a document I uploaded by mistake?
Go to file store. Select the document, then click delete.
6. Do I have to write a comment for all uploaded documents. What should this comment be?
If you are just uploading the document you don’t need to add a comment. However, if you are allocating the document to a criterion please follow the comments format as per the advice detailed in the file store.
7. What happens when I allocate a criterion to a colleague?
The colleague will receive an email saying that they have been allocated the criterion for their attention. That email details the criterion and provides a link to that area within the online assessment.
8. Do you have a word version of the assessment?
Yes. Please contact EFD on 020 7403 3020 and ask to speak to Stuart Moore, or email: disabilitystandard@efd.org.uk.
9. Can I print out my submission?
If you are a super-user you can print by going to the self-assessment home page, selecting the assessment, and then clicking on ‘Print out this assessment’. The system will print whatever information has been entered into the assessment so far, whether that is a partial or complete assessment.
10. Can I have a logo please? We have done the self-assessment.
Unfortunately logos are only available to those organisations that complete the evaluation stage of the Disability Standard.
