Employers' Forum on Disability (EFD) developed the Disability Standard to establish a common understanding in the private and public sector of what constitutes best practice on disability.201 organisations have taken part in the Disability Standard. 80 in 2005, 116 in 2007 and 106 in 2009 with 27 completing the benchmark on all three occasions.
The Disability Standard results show the extent of the commitment, leadership, procedures and policies participants have in place to employ, retain and serve disabled people efficiently. They also provide fascinating insight into the diverse range of UK employers becoming disability confident.
A truly 'disability confident' organisation would reach the Disability Standard by scoring 100% in the Disability Standard Assessment.
The statistics and the reports found in the Facts and Figures 2005, 2007 and 2009 sections present the overall results for each year, draw out major themes, highlight key findings and illustrate comparisons between sectors and submissions.
