What are the Disability Standard ratings and what do they mean?

When completing the online Assessment you will need to select a rating for each statement. The 5 ratings are as follows:

A = Not in place
Nothing is in place or being considered on this.

B = New work being developed
No action has been undertaken on this before, but new work is now being designed or tested.

C = Just introduced
New work has just been introduced on this and it may be too early to assess its impact, or no assessment of impact has yet been made.

D = Needs review
An assessment of the impact of this is being/has been undertaken. Results show it is not working effectively, or working effectively only in some areas. Work is now planned or underway to improve/change/expand so it becomes effective.

This rating may be applied to something that has worked effectively in the past but is now failing to do so and requires significant improvement. For example, a policy may need re-writing, a training course re-designing or new procedures issued etc.

E = Working effectively
Regular monitoring shows this is fully in place/implemented/embedded and that it is benefiting disabled employees, customers/clients/service users and the whole organisation. Small-scale improvements may need to be made to ensure it continues to work effectively.
