What recognition can I get and what do the awards cover?

Rankings
While an organisation’s individual score will remain confidential, participants will be awarded a rank of Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze or participant:

• Platinum:  95-100%
• Gold:  80-94%
• Silver:  70-79%
• Bronze:  60-69%
• Participant:  59% and under

These ranks will be available as a graphic for corporate use by the participant.

Disability Standard 2009 Awards
The Disability Standard 2009 will also recognise excellence through a series of specific awards.

The Award categories are as follows:

Disability Confidence Award 2009
Disability Standard Most Improved Award 2009
Disability Standard Public Sector Employer Award 2009
Disability Standard Private Sector Employer Award 2009
Disability Standard Innovation Award 2009
Disability Champion Award 2009

Innovative schemes and outstanding performance in certain areas will be sought out during the assessment validation process for the Innovation Award. For the Disability Champion Award, participants will also be asked to supply details of outstanding work undertaken by disability champions within their organisation.

These Awards have been developed following feedback from the Disability Standard 2005 and 2007, which highlighted a demand for more recognition for participants. The system follows research with over thirty of our members and is intended to create debate, engage people and ultimately raise awareness of disability as a key area of diversity.

Top Ten
Employers’ Forum on Disability (EFD) will make public the top ten performers. Feedback from the 2007 Disability Standard was overwhelmingly in favour of publishing a top ten. This serves both to promote and reward those that did well and to generate publicity for disability in the workplace generally. Results of all other organisations outside of the top ten will remain anonymous.
